Context of Isaiah 3:10
8Jerusalem is falling down! The towns of Judah are in trouble! The Lord hates the things that their people say and the things that they do. They have turned against the Lord and they insult him. 9Their proud faces show that they are guilty. Their sins are as bad as the sins of Sodom's people. And they do not try to hide it! It will be very bad for them! They have caused great trouble for themselves. Tell the righteous people that they are in a good place. They will enjoy the results of the good things that they have done. 11But it will be very bad for the wicked people. They will receive the punishment that they deserve. 12Now children are cruel to my people and women rule over them. My people, your leaders lead you in the wrong direction. They cannot show you what is right.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10Say ye to the righteous - לצדיק letsaddik, the ל lamed is added here by one MS. and the Chaldee. The righteous is the person, Who fears God. Departs from evil. Walks according to the testimony of God. And expects and prepares for a glorious immortality. "Pronounce ye." - The reading of this verse is very dubious. The Septuagint for אמרו imru read נאסר neasor, or both, נאסר אמרו imru neasor, and לנו טוב לא כי ki lo tob lanu . , ̔ ̔ . Perhaps, for אמרו…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10Say ye to the righteous - The meaning of this verse and the following is sufficiently plain, though expositors have given some variety of interpretation. They declare a great principle of the divine administration similar to what is stated in Isaiah 1:19-20. Lowth reads it, Pronounce ye a blessing on the just; verily good (shall be to him).‘ That it shall be well - The word rendered well,‘ means good.‘ The sense evidently is, that in the divine…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 10-15Verses 10-15 The rule was certain; however there might be national prosperity or trouble, it would be well with the righteous and ill with the wicked. Blessed be God, there is abundant encouragement to the righteous to trust in him, and for sinners to repent and return to him. It was time for the Lord to show his might. He will call men to a strict account for all the wealth and power intrusted to and abused by them. If it is sinful to disregard the…Read the comment
