Context of Romans 15:6
4For whatever was written before was written for our instruction, so that through patience and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 5Now may the God of patience and encouragement grant you to be like-minded with one another in the manner of Messiah Yeshua, so that together with one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. 7Therefore accept one another just as Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God. 8For I declare that Messiah has become a servant to the circumcised for the sake of God’s truth, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs

Commentaries on Romans 15:6
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 6That ye - Jews and Gentiles - may with one mind - Thinking the same things, and bearing with each other, after the example of Christ; and one mouth, in all your religious assemblies, without jarring or contentions, glorify God for calling you into such a state of salvation, and showing himself to be your loving compassionate Father, as he is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is very likely that the apostle refers here to religious acts in public…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6That ye may with one mind - The word used here is translated “with one accord;” Acts 1:14; Acts 2:1; Acts 4:24. It means unitedly, with one purpose, without contentions, and strifes, and jars. And one mouth - This refers, doubtless, to their prayers and praises. That they might join without contention and unkind feeling, in the worship of God. Divisions, strife, and contention in the church prevent union in worship. Though the “body” may be there, and the…Read the comment

But it is "according to Christ Jesus"--after the sublimest model of Him whose all-absorbing desire…Read the comment
