Context of Philippians 1:24
22But if to live on in the body means fruit from my work, what shall I choose? I do not know. 23I am torn between the two—having a desire to leave and be with Messiah, which is far better; yet for your sake, to remain in the body is more necessary. 25Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for the sake of your progress and joy in the faith— 26so that your confidence in Messiah Yeshua might overflow because of me through my coming to you again.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 21-26Verses 21-26 Death is a great loss to a carnal, worldly man, for he loses all his earthly comforts and all his hopes; but to a true believer it is gain, for it is the end of all his weakness and misery.
