17And the world passeth away, and its lust: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:17 in other versions

Context of 1 John 2:17

15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loveth the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world passeth away, and its lust: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist cometh, even now are there many antichrists; by which we know that it is the last time. 19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be shown that they were not all of us.
