Ezra 10:1-9

1NowH3588 whileH3588 EzraH5830 prayedH6419, and madeH6419 confessionH3034, weepingH1058 and casting himselfH6440 downH5307 beforeH6440 the houseH1004 of GodH430, there was gatheredH6908 togetherH6908 unto him outH6440 of IsraelH3478 a veryH3966 greatH3966 congregationH6951 of menH376 and womenH802 and childrenH3206: for the peopleH5971 weptH1058 veryH3966 sore.

2And ShecaniahH7935 the sonH1121 of JehielH3171, one of the sonsH1121 of ElamH5867, answeredH559 and saidH559 unto EzraH5830, WeH587 have trespassed againstH5921 our GodH430, and have marriedH802 strange womenH802 of the peoplesH5971 of the landH776: yet nowH6258 there is hope for IsraelH3478 concerning this thingH2063.

3NowH6258 therefore letH6258 usH6213 makeH6213 a covenantH1285 with our GodH430 to putH3318 awayH3318 allH3605 the wivesH802, and suchH3605 as are bornH3205 of them, according to the counselH6098 of my lordH113, and of thoseH3605 that tremble at the commandmentH4687 of our GodH430; and letH6258 it be doneH6213 according to the lawH8451.

4AriseH6965; for the matterH1697 belongeth unto thee, and weH587 are with thee: be of goodH6965 courageH2388, and doH6213 it.

5Then aroseH6965 EzraH5830, and madeH6213 the chiefsH8269 of the priestsH3548, the LevitesH3881, and allH3605 IsraelH3478, to swearH7650 that they would doH6213 according to this wordH1697. SoH6213 they sware.

6Then EzraH5830 roseH6965 upH6965 from beforeH6440 the houseH1004 of GodH430, and wentH6965 intoH413 the chamberH3957 of JehohananH3076 the sonH1121 of EliashibH475: and when he cameH413 thither, he didH3808 eatH398 noH3808 breadH3899, norH3808 drinkH8354 waterH4325: for he mournedH56 becauseH3588 of the trespassH4604 of them of the captivity.

7And they madeH3605 proclamationH6963 throughoutH3605 JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 unto allH3605 the childrenH1121 of the captivity, that they should gatherH6908 themselvesH6908 togetherH6908 unto JerusalemH3389;

8and that whosoever cameH935 notH3808 withinH935 threeH7969 daysH3117, according to the counselH6098 of the princesH8269 and the eldersH2205, allH3605 his substance should be forfeited, and himselfH1931 separatedH914 from the congregationH6951 of the captivity.

9Then allH3605 the menH376 of JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144 gatheredH6908 themselvesH5921 togetherH6908 unto JerusalemH3389 withinH5921 the threeH7969 daysH3117; it was the ninthH8671 monthH2320, on the twentiethH6242 dayH3117 of the monthH2320: and allH3605 the peopleH5971 satH3427 in the broad placeH1004 beforeH5921 the houseH1004 of GodH430, tremblingH7460 becauseH5921 of this matterH1697, and for the greatH430 rainH1653.
