Context of 2 Samuel 6:15
13And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of Yhwh had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. 14And David danced before Yhwh with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Yhwh with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 16And as the ark of Yhwh came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Yhwh; and she despised him in her heart. 17And they brought in the ark of Yhwh, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yhwh.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 12-19Verses 12-19 It became evident, that happy was the man who had the ark near him. Christ is indeed a Stone of stumbling, and a Rock of offence, to those that are disobedient; but to those that believe, he is a Corner-stone, elect, precious, 1Pe 2:6-8. Let us be religious. Is the ark a blessing to others' houses? We may have it, and the blessing of it, without fetching it away from our neighbours. David, at first setting out, offered sacrifices to God. - Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 15In 2 Samuel 15:10, rams’ horns announce the crowning of a new king. In 2 Samuel 20:1, they announce rebellion. Here, the horns celebrate placing the ark in its own tent (see study note on 2 Samuel 6:17). This action symbolically placed Yahweh’s throne in Jerusalem.Read the comment
