Context of Psalms 102:5
3My days disappear like smoke. My bones burn like hot coals. 4My heart is beaten down and withered like grass because I have forgotten about eating. I am nothing but skin and bones because of my loud groans. 6I am like a desert owl, like an owl living in the ruins. 7I lie awake. I am like a lonely bird on a rooftop.

Commentaries on Psalms 102:5
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5By reason of the voice of my groaning - By suffering and trouble, so great as to produce groaning, my flesh is wasted away. My bones cleave to my skin - Margin, “flesh.” The Hebrew word means “flesh.” The effect described is that of a wasting away or an emaciation of flesh from deep distress, so that the bones became prominent, and had nothing to hide them from view; so that they seemed to adhere fast to the flesh itself.
