Context of Psalms 102:5
3For my days vanish like smoke, and my bones burn like a furnace. 4My heart is suffering, withered like grass; I even forget to eat my food. Because of the sound of my groaning, my flesh sticks to my bones. 6I am like an eagle owl, like a little owl among the ruins. 7I stay awake; I am like a solitary bird on a roof.

Commentaries on Psalms 102:5
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5By reason of the voice of my groaning - By suffering and trouble, so great as to produce groaning, my flesh is wasted away. My bones cleave to my skin - Margin, “flesh.” The Hebrew word means “flesh.” The effect described is that of a wasting away or an emaciation of flesh from deep distress, so that the bones became prominent, and had nothing to hide them from view; so that they seemed to adhere fast to the flesh itself.
