Context of Psalms 102:5
3For my days go up in smoke, and my bones are charred like a fireplace. 4My heart is parched and withered like grass, for I am unable to eat food. Because of the anxiety that makes me groan, my bones protrude from my skin. 6I am like an owl in the wilderness; I am like a screech owl among the ruins. 7I stay awake; I am like a solitary bird on a roof.

Commentaries on Psalms 102:5
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 5By reason of the voice of my groaning - By suffering and trouble, so great as to produce groaning, my flesh is wasted away. My bones cleave to my skin - Margin, “flesh.” The Hebrew word means “flesh.” The effect described is that of a wasting away or an emaciation of flesh from deep distress, so that the bones became prominent, and had nothing to hide them from view; so that they seemed to adhere fast to the flesh itself.
