Context of Mark 14:37
35After walking a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible he might not have to suffer what was ahead of him. 36He said, “Abba! Father! You can do anything. Take this cup ⌞of suffering⌟ away from me. But let your will be done rather than mine.” He went back and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Couldn’t you stay awake for one hour? 38Stay awake, and pray that you won’t be tempted. You want to do what’s right, but you’re weak.” 39He went away again and prayed the same prayer as before.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 32-42Verses 32-42 Christ's sufferings began with the sorest of all, those in his soul. He began to be sorely amazed; words not used in St. Matthew, but very full of meaning. The terrors of God set themselves in array against him, and he allowed him to contemplate them. Never was sorrow like unto his at this time. Now he was made a curse for us; the curses of the law were laid upon him as our Surety. He now tasted death, in all the bitterness of it.
