Context of John 21:11

9When they went ashore, they saw a fire with a fish lying on the coals, and they saw a loaf of bread. 10Jesus told them, “Bring some of the fish you’ve just caught.” Simon Peter got into the boat and pulled the net ashore. Though the net was filled with 153 large fish, it was not torn. 12Jesus told them, “Come, have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared to ask him who he was. They knew he was the Lord. 13Jesus took the bread, gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

• Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 11An hundred and fifty and three - The number is mentioned because it seems to have been a very unusual draught, and it was particularly gratifying and striking to them after they had spent the whole night and had caught nothing. This convinced them that it was no other than the same Saviour who had so often worked wonders before them that was now with them.Read the comment
