Context of Psalms 27:12
10Even if my father and my mother leave me, the Lord will still take care of me. 11Lord, please teach me to follow your way. Lead me along a good, safe path, because my enemies are waiting to attack me. Do not give me to my enemies. They say false things against me, so that they can destroy me. 13But I surely believe that I will see how good the Lord is! I will know his love while I still live in this world. 14Wait for the Lord to help you! Be strong and brave. Yes, wait for the Lord to help you!

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies - To their soul בנפש benephesh ; their whole soul thirsts for my destruction. Let them not be gratified. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 12Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies - Let them not accomplish their desires in regard to me; let them not be able to carry out their purposes. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 7-14Verses 7-14 Wherever the believer is, he can find a way to the throne of grace by prayer. God calls us by his Spirit, by his word, by his worship, and by special providences, merciful and afflicting. When we are foolishly making court to lying vanities, God is, in love to us, calling us to seek our own mercies in him. The call is general, "Seek ye my face;" but we must apply it to ourselves, "I will seek it." The word does us no good, when we do not…Read the comment
