Context of Psalms 27:10
8I have heard you say to me, ‘Come near to me.’ So I will come and pray to you, Lord. 9Please do not turn away from me. I am your servant, so do not be angry with me. You have always helped me in the past, so do not push me away now. You are the one who saves me, God, so do not turn away from me. Even if my father and my mother leave me, the Lord will still take care of me. 11Lord, please teach me to follow your way. Lead me along a good, safe path, because my enemies are waiting to attack me. 12Do not give me to my enemies. They say false things against me, so that they can destroy me.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10When my father and my mother forsake me - If they should do it. The psalmist supposes it possible that this might occur. It does occur, though very rarely; but the psalmist means to say that the love of God is stronger and more certain than even that of a father or mother, since he will never forsake his people. Though every other tie that binds heart to heart should dissolve, this will remain; though a case might occur in which we could not be sure of…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 7-14Verses 7-14 Wherever the believer is, he can find a way to the throne of grace by prayer. God calls us by his Spirit, by his word, by his worship, and by special providences, merciful and afflicting. When we are foolishly making court to lying vanities, God is, in love to us, calling us to seek our own mercies in him. The call is general, "Seek ye my face;" but we must apply it to ourselves, "I will seek it." The word does us no good, when we do not…Read the comment
