Context of Philippians 4:21
19My Lord God in heaven has plenty of good and valuable things. Because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will give to you everything that you need. 20Our Father God is very great! It is right that everyone should praise him always and for ever! Amen. This is true. Say ‘hello’ on my behalf to all of God's people there who belong to Christ Jesus. The believers who are here with me say ‘hello’ to you. 22All God's people here say ‘hello’ to you. The Christians who live in the king's house say a special ‘hello’ to you. 23We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will continue to be kind to you, so that your spirits are strong.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 21Salute every saint in Christ Jesus - It was usual for him also to close his epistles with affectionate salutations to various members of the churches to which he wrote. These salutations are generally specific, and mention the names, particularly if prominent members of the churches; see the close of the Epistles to the Romans; 1Corinthians; Colossians, and 2Timothy. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 20-23Verses 20-23 The apostle ends with praises to God. We should look upon God, under all our weakness and fears, not as an enemy, but as a Father, disposed to pity us and help us. We must give glory to God as a Father. God's grace and favour, which reconciled souls enjoy, with the whole of the graces in us, which flow from it, are all purchased for us by Christ's merit, and applied by his pleading for us; and therefore are justly called the grace of our Lord…Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 2121. Salute every saint--individually. greet--salute you. The brethren which are with me--Perhaps Jewish believers are meant (Ac 28:21).
