Context of Mark 3:8
6Then the Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians [to plot] against Him, as to how they might [fabricate some legal grounds to] put Him to death. 7Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and a large crowd from Galilee followed Him; and also people from Judea, and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and [from the region] beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon; a vast number of people came to Him because they were hearing about all [the things] that He was doing. 9And He told His disciples to have a small boat stand ready for Him because of the many people, so that they would not crowd Him; 10for He had healed many, and as a result all who had diseases pressed around Him to touch Him.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 8Tyre - Sidon, etc. - See Matthew 11:21. When they had heard what great things he did, came unto him - So, if Christ be persecuted and abandoned by the wicked, there are a multitude of pious souls who earnestly seek and follow him. He who labors for God will always find more than he loses, in the midst of all his contradictions and persecutions.Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-12Verses 6-12 All our sicknesses and calamities spring from the anger of God against our sins. Their removal, or the making them blessings to us, was purchased to us by the blood of Christ. But the plagues and diseases of our souls, of our hearts, are chiefly to be dreaded; and He can heal them also by a word. May more and more press to Christ to be healed of these plagues, and to be delivered from the enemies of their souls.Read the comment

Tyre and Sidon were Phoenician cities on the Mediterranean coast that Jesus later visited (7:24, 31).Read the comment
