Context of Isaiah 13:6
4A sound of tumult in the mountains like that of many people! A sound of uproar of kingdoms, of nations gathered! Adonai-Tzva’ot is mustering the army for battle. 5They are coming from a far country— from the end of the heavens— Adonai and the weapons of His wrath, to destroy the whole land. Wail, for the day of Adonai is near! it will come as destruction from Shaddai. 7Therefore all hands will fall limp, and every man’s heart will melt. 8They will be terrified; pain and anguish will take hold of them; they will writhe as a woman in labor; they will look aghast at one another— their faces aflame!

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6Howl ye - Ye inhabitants of Babylon, in view of the approaching destruction. The day of the Lord - The time when Yahweh will inflict vengeance on you draws near (see the note at Isaiah 2:12; compare Isaiah 13:9). As a destruction from the Almighty - Not as a desolation from man, but as destruction sent from him who has all power in heaven and on earth.
