Context of Ezekiel 7:8
6An end has come, the end has come! It has awakened against you. Look, it is coming! 7Doom has come upon you, inhabitant of the land! The time has come, the day is near—panic, not joyful shouting on the hills. Now, soon, I am about to pour out My fury on you. I will exhaust My anger on you. I will judge you according to your ways. I will bring all your abominations on you. 9My eye will not spare you nor will I have pity—I will repay you for your ways—your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that it is I, Adonai, who strikes. 10Behold, the day! Look, it is coming! Doom has gone out. The rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 5-9A second message repeats that the coming judgment would be personal. The people would not only know that God is the Lord, as in Ezekiel 7:4. They would feel his judgment in their own lives. The Lord, who once revealed himself to his people as “the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26), had now become “the LORD, who strikes the blow.” The day of the Lord had arrived. This is a time when God steps in to judge and act in power (Joel 1:15; Amos 5:18–20).Read the comment
