Context of Ezekiel 7:8
6An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come. 7The morning is come upon thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the joyful shouting upon the mountains. Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish my anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thy abominations. 9And my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thy abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth. 10Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.

- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 5-9A second message repeats that the coming judgment would be personal. The people would not only know that God is the Lord, as in Ezekiel 7:4. They would feel his judgment in their own lives. The Lord, who once revealed himself to his people as “the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26), had now become “the LORD, who strikes the blow.” The day of the Lord had arrived. This is a time when God steps in to judge and act in power (Joel 1:15; Amos 5:18–20).Read the comment
