Commentaries on Mark 7:37

• Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 37He hath done all things well - This has been, and ever will be, true of every part of our Lord's conduct. In creation, providence, and redemption he hath done all things well. The wisest philosophers are agreed that, considering creation as a whole, it would be impossible to improve it. Every thing has been made in number, weight, and measure; there really is nothing deficient, nothing redundant; and the good of the creature seems evidently more consulted…Read the comment
• Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 37Beyond measure - Exceedingly; very much. In the Greek, “Very abundantly.” He hath done all things well - All things in a remarkable manner; or, he has perfectly effected the cure of this deaf-mute.Read the comment
• Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 31-37Verses 31-37 Here is a cure of one that was deaf and dumb. Those who brought this poor man to Christ, besought him to observe the case, and put forth his power. Our Lord used more outward actions in the doing of this cure than usual. These were only signs of Christ's power to cure the man, to encourage his faith, and theirs that brought him. Though we find great variety in the cases and manner of relief of those who applied to Christ, yet all obtained the…Read the comment

• Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 3737. And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well--reminding us, says Trench, of the words of the first creation (Ge 1:31, Septuagint), upon which we are thus not unsuitably thrown back, for Christ's work is in the truest sense "a new creation," he maketh both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak--"and they glorified the God of Israel" (Mt 15:31).
