Genesis 6:8 in other versions
Context of Genesis 6:8
6The Lord regretted that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was highly offended. 7So the Lord said, “I will wipe humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth – everything from humankind to animals, including creatures that move on the ground and birds of the air, for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the sight of the Lord. 9This is the account of Noah. Noah was a godly man; he was blameless among his contemporaries. He walked with God. 10Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-11Verses 8-11 Noah did not find favour in the eyes of men; they hated and persecuted him, because both by his life and preaching he condemned the world: but he found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and this made him more truly honourable than the men of renown. Let this be our chief desire, let us labour that we may be accepted of him. When the rest of the world was wicked, Noah kept his integrity. God's good-will towards Noah produced this good work in him…Read the comment
