Context of Genesis 6:8
6So Adonai regretted that He made humankind on the earth, and His heart was deeply pained. 7So Adonai said, “I will wipe out humankind, whom I have created, from the face of the ground, from humankind to livestock, crawling things and the flying creatures of the sky, because I regret that I made them.” But Noah found favor in Adonai’s eyes. 9These are the genealogies of Noah. Noah was a righteous man. He was blameless among his generation. Noah continually walked with God. 10Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-11Verses 8-11 Noah did not find favour in the eyes of men; they hated and persecuted him, because both by his life and preaching he condemned the world: but he found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and this made him more truly honourable than the men of renown. Let this be our chief desire, let us labour that we may be accepted of him. When the rest of the world was wicked, Noah kept his integrity.
