Context of Luke 8:48
46Jesus said, “Someone touched me. I know power has gone out of me.” 47The woman saw that she couldn’t hide. Trembling, she quickly bowed in front of him. There, in front of all the people, she told why she touched him and how she was cured at once. Jesus told her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace!” 49While Jesus was still speaking to her, someone came from the synagogue leader’s home. He said, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t bother the teacher anymore.” 50When Jesus heard this, he told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid! Just believe, and she will get well.”

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 41-56Verses 41-56 Let us not complain of a crowd, and a throng, and a hurry, as long as we are in the way of our duty, and doing good; but otherwise every wise man will keep himself out of it as much as he can. And many a poor soul is healed, and helped, and saved by Christ, that is hidden in a crowd, and nobody notices it. This woman came trembling, yet her faith saved her. There may be trembling, where yet there is saving faith. Observe Christ's comfortable…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 48your faith has healed you. Go in peace: Jesus also said this to the woman who anointed his feet (7:50). The Greek word translated here as healed can mean spiritual or physical salvation. Peace (compare to the Hebrew word shalom) means wholeness, not only the lack of conflict (see 1:79; 2:14, 29; 7:50; 19:38, 42; 24:36).Read the comment
