Context of Job 9:33
31then you would plunge me into a muddy pit, and my own clothes would find me disgusting. 32A human like me cannot answer God, ‘Let’s take our case to court.’ There is no mediator between us to put his hand on both of us. 34God should take his rod away from me, and he should not terrify me. 35Then I would speak and not be afraid of him. But I know that I am not like that.

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 3333. daysman--"mediator," or "umpire"; the imposition of whose hand expresses power to adjudicate between the persons. There might be one on a level with Job, the one party; but Job knew of none on a level with the Almighty, the other party (1Sa 2:25). We Christians know of such a Mediator (not, however, in the sense of umpire) on a level with both--the God-man, Christ Jesus (1Ti 2:5).Read the comment
