Context of Colossians 4:2
1Masters, be just and fair to your slaves because you know that you also have a master in heaven. Keep praying. Pay attention when you offer prayers of thanksgiving. 3At the same time also pray for us. Pray that God will give us an opportunity to speak the word so that we may tell the mystery about Christ. It is because of this mystery that I am a prisoner. 4Pray that I may make this mystery as clear as possible. This is what I have to do.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 2Continue in prayer - This was the apostle's general advice to all; without this, neither wives, husbands, children, parents, servants, nor masters, could fulfill the duties which God, in their respective stations, required of them. All might, power, and life come from God; his creatures are continually dependent upon him for all these: to earnest, persevering prayer, he has promised every supply; but he who prays not has no promise. How few wives feel it…Read the comment

The people are to pray particularly for their ministers. Believers are exhorted to right conduct towards unbelievers.
