Context of Revelation 19:13
11I saw that heaven was now open. I saw a white horse there! The name of the man who was riding the horse was this: ‘A faithful, honest person’. He is always right when he judges people and when he goes to punish them in war. 12His eyes burn like bright flames of fire. Many crowns are on his head. He has a name that is written on him, but nobody knows that name except himself. He wears a long shirt with a lot of blood on it. His name is: ‘The Word of God’. 14Heaven's armies were following him. They were also riding on white horses. They were wearing linen clothes that were white and clean. 15A sharp sword was coming out of his mouth. He will use this sword to attack the people of all the nations of the world. Then he will rule them with strong authority. He will punish them like someone who stamps on grapes in a winepress. That will show God's great anger against them. He is the Almighty God.

The Word of God - Written in the Targum, and in other Jewish writings, דיי מימרא meimera daiya, "the word of Jehovah;" by which they always mean a person, and not a word spoken. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood - Red, as if dipped in blood - emblem of slaughter. The original of this image is probably Isaiah 63:2-3. This name is ̔ ́ ͂ ͂ Ho logos tou Theouor “the Logos of God.” That is, this is his unique name; a name which belongs only to him, and which…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 11-21Verses 11-21 Christ, the glorious Head of the church, is described as on a white horse, the emblem of justice and holiness. He is arrayed in a vesture dipped in his own blood, by which he purchased his power as Mediator; and in the blood of his enemies, over whom he always prevails. - Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1313. vesture dipped in blood--Is 63:2 is alluded to here, and in Re 19:15, end. There the blood is not His own, but that of His foes. So here the blood on His "vesture," reminding us of His own blood shed for even the ungodly who trample on it, is a premonition of the shedding of their blood in righteous retribution. He sheds the blood, not of the godly, as the harlot and beast did, but of the blood-stained ungodly, including them both. The Word of…Read the comment
