Context of Mark 3:11
9The crowd was very large. So Jesus asked his disciples to prepare a small boat for him. They did this so that the people would not push against him. 10Sick people were pushing to the front, because they were trying to touch him. They knew that he had made many people well. Often, a person with a bad spirit saw Jesus. Then, the spirit caused the person to fall down on the ground in front of Jesus. The spirit caused that person to shout out, ‘You are the Son of God.’ 12Jesus often had to say to the bad spirits, ‘You must not tell anyone who I am.’ 13Jesus went up a mountain. He chose some men and he asked them to go there with him. So they met together with him there.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11Thou art the Son of God - Two MSS., and the later Syriac, have, Thou art the Christ, the Son of God. One of Stephens's MSS. has, Thou art the Holy One of God. A MS. in the library of Leicester has, ̔ , ̔, Thou art God, the Son. This is an uncommon reading, which is not confirmed by any MS. yet discovered.Read the comment

In this place it is equivalent to the Messiah, who was, among the Jews, called the Son of God. Hence, they were charged not to make him known, because he was not desirous that it should be blazoned abroad that he claimed to be the Messiah. He had not yet done what he wished in order to establish his claims to the Messiahship. He was…Read the comment

Their removal, or the making them blessings to us, was purchased to us by the blood of Christ.
