Context of 2 Chronicles 19:3
1King Jehoshaphat of Judah returned safely to his home in Jerusalem. 2The prophet Jehu, Hanani's son, went to meet him. He said to King Jehoshaphat, ‘You agreed to help a wicked man. You became the friend of someone who hates the Lord. You should not have done that. You have caused the Lord to be very angry with you. But you have done some good things. You have removed the Asherah poles from Judah's land. You have chosen to serve God.’ 4King Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem. He also travelled around the country to meet people. He went everywhere, from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim. He warned the people to turn back to the Lord, the God of their ancestors. 5He chose men to be judges. He put them everywhere in Judah, in each strong city.
