Context of Revelation 15:5
3They sang the song of God’s servant Moses and the song of the Lamb: Great and awe-inspiring are your works, Lord God, the Almighty; just and true are your ways, King of the nations. 4Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you because your righteous acts have been revealed. After this I looked, and the heavenly temple — the tabernacle of testimony — was opened. 6Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes wrapped around their chests. 7One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God who lives forever and ever.

And behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony - Not the whole temple, but only that part to which this name was given. The word “tabernacle” - ́ skēnē- means properly a booth, hut, tent, and was the name commonly given to the tent or tabernacle that was…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 5-8Verses 5-8 In the judgments God executes upon antichrist and his followers, he fulfils the prophecies and promises of his word. These angels are prepared for their work, clothed with pure and white linen, their breasts girded with golden girdles, representing the holiness, and righteousness, and excellence of these dealings with men. They are ministers of Divine justice, and do every thing in a pure and holy manner. They were armed with the wrath of God…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 5-6God's tabernacle shows God's presence (see John 1:14). Even the plagues come from God's presence. Christ's sacrifice (Matthew 27:51; Mark 15:38; Hebrews 6:19–20; 10:19–20) removed the barrier between God and humanity (see Exodus 26:31–35; Leviticus 16). Now, those who do not belong to Christ feel the full impact of God's presence (see Revelation 20:11–15; Isaiah 13:4–12; Zephaniah 2:1–3; Malachi 3:2–3). bright linen: Linen, a symbol of purity, was also…Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 55. So Re 11:19; compare Re 16:17. "The tabernacle of the testimony" appropriately here comes to view, where God's faithfulness in avenging His people with judgments on their foes is about to be set forth.
