Context of Psalms 88:3
1O Jehovah, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee. 2Let my prayer enter into thy presence; Incline thine ear unto my cry. For my soul is full of troubles, And my life draweth nigh unto Sheol. 4I am reckoned with them that go down into the pit; I am as a man that hath no help, 5Cast off among the dead, Like the slain that lie in the grave, Whom thou rememberest no more, And they are cut off from thy hand.

Commentaries on Psalms 88:3
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3For my soul is full of troubles - I am full of trouble. The word rendered as “full” means properly to satiate as with food; that is, when as much had been taken as could be. So he says here, that this trouble was as great as he could bear; he could sustain no more. He had reached the utmost point of endurance; he had no power to bear anymore. And my life draweth nigh unto the grave - Hebrew, to Sheol. Compare the notes at Isaiah 14:9; notes at Job…Read the comment
