Context of Psalms 88:3
1Lord, you are the God who rescues me. I call out to you in the day, and I pray for help at night. 2Please listen to my prayer! I am calling to you for help! There is a lot of trouble in my life. I feel that I am near to death. 4People see me as if I am already in my grave. I feel completely helpless. 5I am the same as people who have died. Their bodies already lie in their graves. You do not remember them any more You cannot use your power to help them.

Commentaries on Psalms 88:3
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3For my soul is full of troubles - I am full of trouble. The word rendered as “full” means properly to satiate as with food; that is, when as much had been taken as could be. So he says here, that this trouble was as great as he could bear; he could sustain no more. He had reached the utmost point of endurance; he had no power to bear anymore. And my life draweth nigh unto the grave - Hebrew, to Sheol. Compare the notes at Isaiah 14:9; notes at Job…Read the comment
