Context of Isaiah 25:12
10For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain [Zion], And Moab will be trampled down in his place As straw is trampled down in the [filthy] water of a manure pile. 11And Moab will spread out his hands in the middle of the filth As a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim, But the Lord will humiliate his pride in spite of the [skillful] movements of his hands. The high fortifications of your walls He will bring down, Lay low, and cast to the ground, to the dust.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 12And the fortress - Thy strong defenses shall be destroyed. This is spoken of Moab (compare the notes at Isaiah 15:1-9; Isaiah 16:1-14), and is designed to be emblematic of the enemies of the people of God (compare the notes at Isaiah 34) The repetition of the expressions bring down,‘ lay low,‘ and bring to the ground,‘ is designed to make the sentence emphatic, and to indicate that it would certainly be accomplished.Read the comment

The hands once stretched out upon the cross, to make way for our salvation, will at length be stretched forth to destroy all impenitent sinners. Moab is here put…Read the comment
