Context of Psalms 105:18
16He called down a famine on the land. He broke the whole supply of bread. 17He sent a man before them— Joseph, sold as a slave. They hurt His feet with shackles, he was put in irons— 19till the time that his word came true— the word of Adonai proved him true! 20The king sent and released him. The ruler of the peoples set him free.

The margin is, “his soul came into iron.” The version in the Prayer-Book of the Episcopal Church is, the iron entered into his soul. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 8-23Verses 8-23 Let us remember the Redeemer's marvellous works, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth. Though true Christians are few number, strangers and pilgrims upon earth, yet a far better inheritance than Canaan is made sure to them by the covenant of God; and if we have the anointing of the Holy Spirit, none can do us any harm.
