Context of 1 Chronicles 16:34
32Let the sea roar and all that is in it. Let the field rejoice and all that is in it. 33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Adonai, for He comes to judge the earth. Give thanks to Adonai for He is good, for His mercy endures forever. 35Declare, “Save us, O God of our salvation! Gather and rescue us from the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy Name, that we may glory in Your praise.” 36Blessed be Adonai, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Then all the people said “Amen,” and “Praise Adonai.”

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 4-42Verses 4-42 This passage is interposed by the writer of Chronicles between two sentences of the parallel passage in Samuel. It contains a detailed account of the service which David instituted at this time, a service out of which grew the more elaborate service of the temple. The language of much of the passage is remarkably archaic, and there can be no reasonable doubt that it is in the main an extract from a record of the time of David. 1 Chronicles…Read the comment
