Genesis 50
Revised Webster's Bible
1And JosephH3130 fellH5307 upon his father’sH1 faceH6440, and weptH1058 upon him, and kissedH5401 him. 2And JosephH3130 commandedH6680 his servantsH5650 the physiciansH7495 to embalmH2590 his fatherH1: and the physiciansH7495 embalmedH2590 IsraelH3478. 3And fortyH705 daysH3117 were fulfilledH4390 for him; for so are fulfilledH4390 the daysH3117 of those who are embalmedH2590: and the EgyptiansH4714 mournedH1058 for him seventyH7657 daysH3117.1 4And when the daysH3117 of his mourningH1068 were pastH5674, JosephH3130 spokeH1696 to the houseH1004 of PharaohH6547, sayingH559, If now I have foundH4672 graceH2580 in your eyesH5869, speakH1696, I pray you, in the earsH241 of PharaohH6547, sayingH559, 5My fatherH1 made me swearH7650, sayingH559, LoH2009, I dieH4191: in my graveH6913 which I have dugH3738 for me in the landH776 of CanaanH3667, there shalt thou bury meH6912. Now therefore let me goH5927, I pray thee, and buryH6912 my fatherH1, and I will come againH7725. 6And PharaohH6547 saidH559, Go upH5927, and buryH6912 thy fatherH1, according as he made thee swearH7650.
7And JosephH3130 went upH5927 to buryH6912 his fatherH1: and with him wentH5927 all the servantsH5650 of PharaohH6547, the eldersH2205 of his houseH1004, and all the eldersH2205 of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, 8And all the houseH1004 of JosephH3130, and his brethrenH251, and his father’sH1 houseH1004: only their little onesH2945, and their flocksH6629, and their herdsH1241, they leftH5800 in the landH776 of GoshenH1657. 9And there wentH5927 with him both chariotsH7393 and horsemenH6571: and it was a veryH3966 greatH3515 companyH4264. 10And they cameH935 to the threshingfloorH1637 of AtadH329, which is beyondH5676 JordanH3383, and there they mournedH5594 with a greatH1419 and veryH3966 grievousH3515 lamentationH4553: and he madeH6213 a mourningH60 for his fatherH1 sevenH7651 daysH3117. 11And when the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776, the CanaanitesH3669, sawH7200 the mourningH60 in the threshingfloorH1637 of AtadH329, they saidH559, This is a grievousH3515 mourningH60 to the EgyptiansH4714: therefore the name of itH8034 was calledH7121 AbelmizraimH67, which is beyondH5676 JordanH3383.2 12And his sonsH1121 didH6213 to him according as he commandedH6680 them: 13For his sonsH1121 carriedH5375 him into the landH776 of CanaanH3667, and buriedH6912 him in the caveH4631 of the fieldH7704 of MachpelahH4375, which AbrahamH85 boughtH7069 with the fieldH7704 for a possessionH272 of a buryingplaceH6913 of EphronH6085 the HittiteH2850, beforeH6440 MamreH4471. 14And JosephH3130 returnedH7725 to EgyptH4714, he, and his brethrenH251, and all that went upH5927 with him to buryH6912 his fatherH1, afterH310 he had buriedH6912 his fatherH1.
15And when Joseph’sH3130 brethrenH251 sawH7200 that their fatherH1 was deadH4191, they saidH559, JosephH3130 will perhapsH3863 hate usH7852, and will certainlyH7725 repayH7725 us all the evilH7451 which we didH1580 to him. 16And they sent a messengerH6680 to JosephH3130, sayingH559, Thy fatherH1 commandedH6680 beforeH6440 he diedH4194, sayingH559,3 17So shall ye sayH559 to JosephH3130, ForgiveH5375, I pray theeH577 now, the trespassH6588 of thy brethrenH251, and their sinH2403; for they didH1580 to thee evilH7451: and now, we pray thee, forgiveH5375 the trespassH6588 of the servantsH5650 of the GodH430 of thy fatherH1. And JosephH3130 weptH1058 when they spokeH1696 to him. 18And his brethrenH251 also wentH3212 and fell downH5307 before his faceH6440; and they saidH559, Behold, we are thy servantsH5650. 19And JosephH3130 saidH559 to them, FearH3372 not: for am I in the place of GodH430? 20But as for you, ye thoughtH2803 evilH7451 against me; but GodH430 meant itH2803 for goodH2896, toH4616 bring to passH6213, as it is this dayH3117, to saveH2421 manyH7227 peopleH5971 aliveH2421. 21Now therefore fearH3372 ye not: I will nourishH3557 you, and your little onesH2945. And he comfortedH5162 them, and spokeH1696 kindlyH3820 to them.4
22And JosephH3130 dweltH3427 in EgyptH4714, he, and his father’sH1 houseH1004: and JosephH3130 livedH2421 an hundredH3967 and tenH6235 yearsH8141. 23And JosephH3130 sawH7200 Ephraim’sH669 childrenH1121 of the thirdH8029 generation : the childrenH1121 also of MachirH4353 the sonH1121 of ManassehH4519 were brought upH3205 upon Joseph’sH3130 kneesH1290.5 24And JosephH3130 saidH559 to his brethrenH251, I dieH4191: and GodH430 will surelyH6485 visitH6485 you, and bring you outH5927 of this landH776 to the landH776 which he sworeH7650 to AbrahamH85, to IsaacH3327, and to JacobH3290. 25And JosephH3130 took an oathH7650 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, GodH430 will surelyH6485 visitH6485 you, and ye shall carry upH5927 my bonesH6106 from hereH2088. 26So JosephH3130 diedH4191, being an hundredH3967 and tenH6235 yearsH8141 oldH1121: and they embalmedH2590 him, and he was putH3455 in a coffinH727 in EgyptH4714.
