Jeremiah 9:9-16

9Shall I not visitH6485 them for these things? saithH5002 YhwhH3068: shall not my soulH5315 be avengedH5358 on such a nationH1471 as this? 10For the mountainsH2022 will I take upH5375 a weepingH1065 and wailingH5092, and for the habitationsH4999 of the wildernessH4057 a lamentationH7015, because they are burned upH3341, so that noneH376 can passH5674 through them; neither can men hearH8085 the voiceH6963 of the cattleH4735; both the fowlH5775 of the heavensH8064 and the beastH929 are fledH5074; they are goneH1980.123 11And I will makeH5414 JerusalemH3389 heapsH1530, and a denH4583 of dragonsH8577; and I will makeH5414 the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 desolateH8077, without an inhabitantH3427.4

12Who is the wiseH2450 manH376, that may understandH995 this? and who is he to whom the mouthH6310 of YhwhH3068 hath spokenH1696, that he may declareH5046 it, for what the landH776 perishethH6 and is burned upH3341 like a wildernessH4057, that none passeth throughH5674? 13And YhwhH3068 saithH559, Because they have forsakenH5800 my lawH8451 which I setH5414 beforeH6440 them, and have not obeyedH8085 my voiceH6963, neither walkedH1980 therein; 14But have walkedH3212 afterH310 the imaginationH8307 of their own heartH3820, and afterH310 BaalimH1168, which their fathersH1 taughtH3925 them:5 15Therefore thus saithH559 YhwhH3068 of ArmiesH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; Behold, I will feedH398 them, even this peopleH5971, with wormwoodH3939, and give them waterH4325 of gallH7219 to drinkH8248. 16I will scatterH6327 them also among the heathenH1471, whom neither they nor their fathersH1 have knownH3045: and I will sendH7971 a swordH2719 afterH310 them, till I have consumedH3615 them.
