Context of Psalms 101:6
4A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness. 5Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure. My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me. 7He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in my presence. 8Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the Lord.

No irreligious or wicked man, whatever his abilities may be, shall be countenanced or supported by me. I will purify my court from the base, the irreligious, the avaricious, the venal, the profligate, and the wicked. He that walketh in a perfect way - He that is truly religious. - Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land - I will look to them to be employed in my house, and in my service. The word rendered “faithful” means those who are worthy of belief or confidence. It does not “necessarily” mean those who are pious or religious - though it is often used to denote such persons, in reference to the principal trait in the character of the pious, that is, confidence or faith in God.
