Context of Psalms 101:6
4A perverse heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person . 5Whoever secretly slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart I will not endure. My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. 7He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. 8I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all who practise wickedness from the city of the LORD.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 6Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land - I will look to them to be employed in my house, and in my service. The word rendered “faithful” means those who are worthy of belief or confidence. It does not “necessarily” mean those who are pious or religious - though it is often used to denote such persons, in reference to the principal trait in the character of the pious, that is, confidence or faith in God.
