Context of Micah 2:10
8Recently, my people have turned into enemies. You take coats from those who pass by without a care as they return from war. 9You force the women among my people out of their pleasant homes and take my glory away from their children forever. Get up, and go away! This is not a place to rest! It will be destroyed, completely destroyed, because it offends me. 11Liars and frauds may go around and say, “We will preach to you about wine and liquor.” They would be just the type of preacher you want. 12I will surely gather all of you, Jacob. I will surely bring together the few people left in Israel. I will gather them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in its pasture. They will make a lot of noise because there will be so many people.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 10Arise ye, and depart - Prepare for your captivity; ye shall have no resting place here: the very land is polluted by your iniquities, and shall vomit you out, and it shall be destroyed; and the destruction of it shall be great and sore. Some think this is an exhortation to the godly, to leave a land that was to be destroyed so speedily.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 10Arise ye and depart - Go your way, as being cast out of God‘s care and land. It matters not where they went. “For this is not your rest.” As ye have done, so shall it be done unto you. As ye cast out the widow and the fatherless, so shall ye be cast out; as ye gave no rest to those “averse from war,” so shall ye have none Revelation 13:10. “He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity; he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the…Read the comment
- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-11Verses 6-11 Since they say, "Prophesy not," God will take them at their word, and their sin shall be their punishment. Let the physician no longer attend the patient that will not be healed. Those are enemies, not only to God, but to their country, who silence good ministers, and stop the means of grace. What bonds will hold those who have no reverence for God's word? Sinners cannot expect to rest in a land they have polluted. You shall not only be…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 1010. Arise ye, and depart--not an exhortation to the children of God to depart out of an ungodly world, as it is often applied; though that sentiment is a scriptural one. This world is doubtless not our "rest," being "polluted" with sin: it is our passage, not our portion; our aim, not our home (2Co 6:17; He 13:14). The imperatives express the certainty of the future event predicted. "Since such are your doings (compare Mi 2:7, 8, &c.), My sentence on you…Read the comment
