Context of Micah 2:9
7Should the descendants of Jacob be asked: Has the Spirit of the Lord become impatient with you? Has he done these things? Are his words good for those who live honestly? 8Recently, my people have turned into enemies. You take coats from those who pass by without a care as they return from war. You force the women among my people out of their pleasant homes and take my glory away from their children forever. 10Get up, and go away! This is not a place to rest! It will be destroyed, completely destroyed, because it offends me. 11Liars and frauds may go around and say, “We will preach to you about wine and liquor.” They would be just the type of preacher you want.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 9The women of my people - Ye are the cause of the women and their children being carried into captivity - separated from their pleasant habitations, and from my temple and ordinances - and from the blessings of the covenant, which it is my glory to give, and theirs to receive. These two verses may probably relate to the war made on Ahaz by Rezin, king of Syria, and Pekah, king of Israel. They fell suddenly upon the Jews; killed in one day one hundred and…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 9The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses - (literally, from her pleasant house,) each from her home. These were probably the widows of those whom they had stripped. Since the houses were their‘s, they were widows; and so their spoilers were at war with those whom God had committed to their special love, whom He had declared the objects of His own tender care, “the widows and the fatherless.” The widows they “drove vehemently…Read the comment
