Context of Job 6:9
7I cannot eat that kind of food. It makes me ill. 8I want God to give me what I ask him for. I want him to answer my prayer. I would like him to destroy me. He should kill me himself. 10Then I would have peace. I would be happy. I have received much cruel pain. But I have always obeyed the words of the holy God. 11I am not strong enough to hope for my life to become any better. There is no reason for me to continue my life.

Who, for one hour, could endure the wrath of the Almighty, if he let loose his hand against him? Let us rather say with David, O spare me a little. Job grounds his comfort upon the testimony of his conscience, that he had been, in some degree…Read the comment
