Context of Job 34:24
22People who do wicked things cannot hide themselves. There is no place dark enough for them to hide from God. 23God does not have to tell people when they must come to him, so that he can judge them. He destroys powerful people, and he chooses other people to take their place. He does not have to ask them anything. 25He already knows the things that they have done. In the night, he removes their power, and he destroys them. 26He punishes them because they have done wicked things. He does that where everyone can see.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 16-30Verses 16-30 Elihu appeals directly to Job himself. Could he suppose that God was like those earthly princes, who hate right, who are unfit to rule, and prove the scourges of mankind? It is daring presumption to condemn God's proceedings, as Job had done by his discontents. Elihu suggests divers considerations to Job, to produce in him high thoughts of God, and so to persuade him to submit. Job had often wished to plead his cause before God. Elihu asks…Read the comment
