Context of Revelation 22:3
1And he shewed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, going out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of its street, and of the river, on this side and on that side, [the] tree of life, producing twelve fruits, in each month yielding its fruit; and the leaves of the tree for healing of the nations. And no curse shall be any more; and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him, 4and they shall see his face; and his name [is] on their foreheads. 5And night shall not be any more, and no need of a lamp, and light of [the] sun; for [the] Lord God shall shine upon them, and they shall reign to the ages of ages.

Commentaries on Revelation 22:3
- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 3No more curse - Instead of , curse, the best MSS., versions, etc., read cursed person. As there shall be no more sinning against God, so there shall be no more curse of God upon the people; for they shall be all his servants, and serve him. Our first parents came under the curse by sinning against their Maker in paradise; these shall never apostatize, therefore neither they nor the earth shall be cursed.Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 3And there shall be no more curse - This is doubtless designed to be in strong contrast with our present abode; and it is affirmed that what now properly comes under the name of a curse, or whatever is part of the curse pronounced on man by the fall, will be there unknown. The earth will be no more cursed, and will produce no more thorns and thistles; man will be no more compelled to earn his bread by the sweat of his brow; woman will be no more doomed to…Read the comment
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 3No longer … any curse: Since the first sin (Genesis 3:14–19), humanity has faced a curse due to their rebellion against God (see 1 Corinthians 16:22). Now, rebellion, sin, and the curse are gone forever. His servants will worship him: Revelation shows examples of true worship (see Revelation 4–5; 7:9–17).Read the comment
- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 33. no more curse--of which the earnest shall be given in the millennium (Zec 14:11). God can only dwell where the curse and its cause, the cursed thing sin (Jos 7:12), are removed. So there follows rightly, "But the throne of God and of the Lamb (who redeemed us from the curse, Ga 3:10, 13) shall be in it." Compare in the millennium, Eze 48:35. serve him--with worship (Re 7:15).Read the comment
