Context of Proverbs 7:19
17I have perfumed my couch with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. 18Come, let us revel in love until the morning, let us delight ourselves with loves. For the husband is not at home, he is gone a long journey; 20he hath taken the money-bag with him, he will come home on the day of the full moon. 21With her much enticement she beguiled him; with the smoothness of her lips she constrained him.

- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 19The reference to the husband is probably a blind. The use of the word “goodman” is due to the wish of the English translators to give a colloquial character to this part of their Version. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 6-27Verses 6-27 Here is an affecting example of the danger of youthful lusts. It is a history or a parable of the most instructive kind.
