Context of Mark 10:17
15Verily I say to you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter into it. 16And having taken them in his arms, having laid his hands on them, he blessed them. And as he went forth into the way, a person ran up to [him], and kneeling to him asked him, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18But Jesus said to him, Why callest thou me good? no one is good but one, [that is] God. 19Thou knowest the commandments: Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honour thy father and mother.

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 17-22Verses 17-22 This young ruler showed great earnestness. He asked what he should do now, that he might be happy for ever. Most ask for good to be had in this world; any good, Psa 4:6; he asks for good to be done in this world, in order to enjoy the greatest good in the other world. Christ encouraged this address by assisting his faith, and by directing his practice. But here is a sorrowful parting between Jesus and this young man. He asks Christ what he…Read the comment
