Context of Leviticus 9:20
18He also slaughtered the bull and the ram as the sacrifice of fellowship offerings for the people. Then his sons brought him the blood, which he splashed around on the altar, 19as well as the fat from the bull and the ram, the fat tail, and the layer over the innards along with the kidneys and the covering of the liver. They put the fat upon the breasts, and he burned it on the altar. 21But the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before Adonai, as Moses had commanded. 22Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. Then he stepped down from presenting the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings.

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 17-2117-21. meat offering ... wave offering--It is observable that there is no notice taken of these in the offerings the priests made for themselves. They could not bear their own sins: and therefore, instead of eating any part of their own sin offering, as they were at liberty to do in the case of the people's offering, they had to carry the whole carcasses "without the camp and burn them with fire" [Ex 29:14; Le 4:12].Read the comment
