Context of Ezekiel 23:21
19Yet she multiplied her harlotry—remembering the days of her youth, when she was a harlot in the land of Egypt. 20She lusted after their paramours, whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys, and whose issue is like that of horses. So you revisited the promiscuity of your youth, when the Egyptians used to fondle your bosom and youthful breasts. 22“Therefore Oholibah, thus says Adonai Elohim, behold, I will stir up your lovers against you, from whom you turned in disgust. I will bring them against you on every side: 23the Babylonians and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa and Koa and all the Assyrians with them, handsome young men, governors and rulers all of them, commanders and officers, all of them riding on horses.

Commentaries on Ezekiel 23:21
- Tyndale Open Study Notes · v. 1-49This chapter, like chapter 16, tells the history of the northern and southern kingdoms of Israel and Judah. It does this through an extended metaphor (a comparison that continues through many verses). In this comparison, Samaria and Jerusalem, the capital cities, are described as two immoral women. The language is strong and direct. This metaphor shows that their judgment was certain and deserved.Read the comment
