Joshua 23
Revised Webster's Bible
1And it came to pass a longH7227 timeH3117 afterH310 that the LORDH3068 had given restH5117 to IsraelH3478 from all their enemiesH341 on all sidesH5439, that JoshuaH3091 became oldH2204 and advancedH935 in yearsH3117.1 2And JoshuaH3091 calledH7121 for all IsraelH3478, and for their eldersH2205, and for their headsH7218, and for their judgesH8199, and for their officersH7860, and saidH559 to them, I am oldH2204 and advancedH935 in yearsH3117: 3And ye have seenH7200 all that the LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath doneH6213 to all these nationsH1471 becauseH6440 of you; for the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is he that hath foughtH3898 for you. 4BeholdH7200, I have dividedH5307 to you by lot these nationsH1471 that remainH7604, to be an inheritanceH5159 for your tribesH7626, from JordanH3383, with all the nationsH1471 that I have cut offH3772, even to the greatH1419 seaH3220 westwardH3996H8121.2 5And the LORDH3068 your GodH430, he shall drive them outH1920 from beforeH6440 you, and driveH3423 them from your sightH6440; and ye shall possessH3423 their landH776, as the LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath promisedH1696 to you. 6Be ye therefore veryH3966 courageousH2388 to keepH8104 and to doH6213 all that is writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 of MosesH4872, that ye turnH5493 not aside from it to the right handH3225 or to the leftH8040; 7That ye comeH935 not among these nationsH1471, these that remainH7604 among you; neither make mentionH2142 of the nameH8034 of their godsH430, nor cause to swearH7650 by them, neither serveH5647 them, nor bowH7812 yourselves to them: 8But hold fastH1692 to the LORDH3068 your GodH430, as ye have doneH6213 to this dayH3117.3 9For the LORDH3068 hath driven outH3423 from beforeH6440 you greatH1419 nationsH1471 and strongH6099: but as for you, no manH376 hath been able to standH5975 beforeH6440 you to this dayH3117.4 10OneH259 manH376 of you shall chaseH7291 a thousandH505: for the LORDH3068 your GodH430, he it is that fightethH3898 for you, as he hath promisedH1696 you.
11Take goodH3966 heedH8104 therefore to yourselvesH5315, that ye loveH157 the LORDH3068 your GodH430.5 12Else if ye do in any wayH7725 go backH7725, and follow afterH1692 the remnantH3499 of these nationsH1471, even these that remainH7604 among you, and shall make marriagesH2859 with them, and associateH935 with them, and they with you: 13KnowH3045 for a certaintyH3045 that the LORDH3068 your GodH430 will no moreH3254 drive outH3423 any of these nationsH1471 from beforeH6440 you; but they shall be snaresH6341 and trapsH4170 to you, and scourgesH7850 in your sidesH6654, and thornsH6796 in your eyesH5869, until ye perishH6 from off this goodH2896 landH127 which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath givenH5414 you. 14And, behold, this dayH3117 I am goingH1980 the wayH1870 of all the earthH776: and ye knowH3045 in all your heartsH3824 and in all your soulsH5315, that not oneH259 thingH1697 hath failedH5307 of all the goodH2896 thingsH1697 which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 spokeH1696 concerning you; all are come to passH935 to you, and not oneH259 thingH1697 hath failedH5307 of it. 15Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all goodH2896 thingsH1697 are comeH935 upon you, which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 promisedH1696 you; so shall the LORDH3068 bringH935 upon you all evilH7451 thingsH1697, until he hath destroyedH8045 you from off this goodH2896 landH127 which the LORDH3068 your GodH430 hath givenH5414 you. 16When ye have transgressedH5674 the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068 your GodH430, which he commandedH6680 you, and have goneH1980 and servedH5647 otherH312 godsH430, and bowedH7812 yourselves to them; then shall the angerH639 of the LORDH3068 be kindledH2734 against you, and ye shall perishH6 quicklyH4120 from off the goodH2896 landH776 which he hath givenH5414 to you.
