2 Samuel 7

1And it came to pass, when the kingH4428 satH3427 in his houseH1004, and the LORDH3068 had given him restH5117 on every sideH5439 from all his enemiesH341; 2That the kingH4428 saidH559 to NathanH5416 the prophetH5030, SeeH7200 now, I dwellH3427 in an houseH1004 of cedarH730, but the arkH727 of GodH430 dwellethH3427 withinH8432 curtainsH3407. 3And NathanH5416 saidH559 to the kingH4428, GoH3212, doH6213 all that is in thy heartH3824; for the LORDH3068 is with thee.

4And it came to pass that nightH3915, that the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 came to NathanH5416, sayingH559, 5GoH3212 and tellH559 my servantH5650 DavidH1732, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068, Shalt thou buildH1129 me an houseH1004 for me to dwell inH3427?1 6Though I have not dweltH3427 in any houseH1004 since the timeH3117 that I broughtH5927 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 out of EgyptH4714, even to this dayH3117, but have walkedH1980 in a tentH168 and in a tabernacleH4908. 7In all the places in which I have walkedH1980 with all the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 have I spokenH1696 a wordH1697 with anyH259 of the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, whom I commandedH6680 to feedH7462 my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, sayingH559, Why do ye not buildH1129 me an houseH1004 of cedarH730?2 8Now therefore so shalt thou sayH559 to my servantH5650 DavidH1732, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, I tookH3947 thee from the sheepfoldH5116, from followingH310 the sheepH6629, to be rulerH5057 over my peopleH5971, over IsraelH3478:3 9And I was with thee wherever thou wentestH1980, and have cut offH3772 all thy enemiesH341 out of thy sightH6440, and have madeH6213 thee a greatH1419 nameH8034, like the nameH8034 of the greatH1419 men that are in the earthH776.4 10Moreover I will appointH7760 a placeH4725 for my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, and will plantH5193 them, that they may dwellH7931 in a place of their own, and moveH7264 no more; neither shall the childrenH1121 of wickednessH5766 afflictH6031 them any moreH3254, as in times pastH7223, 11And as since the timeH3117 that I commandedH6680 judgesH8199 to be over my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, and have caused thee to restH5117 from all thy enemiesH341. Also the LORDH3068 tellethH5046 thee that he will makeH6213 thee an houseH1004. 12And when thy daysH3117 shall be fulfilledH4390, and thou shalt sleepH7901 with thy fathersH1, I will set upH6965 thy seedH2233 afterH310 thee, who shall proceedH3318 out of thy own bodyH4578, and I will establishH3559 his kingdomH4467. 13He shall buildH1129 an houseH1004 for my nameH8034, and I will establishH3559 the throneH3678 of his kingdomH4467 forH5704 everH5769. 14I will be his fatherH1, and he shall be my sonH1121. If he shall commit iniquityH5753, I will chastenH3198 him with the rodH7626 of menH582, and with the stripesH5061 of the childrenH1121 of menH120: 15But my mercyH2617 shall not departH5493 from him, as I tookH5493 it from SaulH7586, whom I put awayH5493 beforeH6440 thee. 16And thy houseH1004 and thy kingdomH4467 shall be establishedH539 forH5704 everH5769 beforeH6440 thee: thy throneH3678 shall be establishedH3559 forH5704 everH5769. 17According to all these wordsH1697, and according to all this visionH2384, so did NathanH5416 speakH1696 to DavidH1732.

18Then kingH4428 DavidH1732 went inH935, and satH3427 beforeH6440 the LORDH3068, and he saidH559, Who am I, O LordH136 GODH3069? and what is my houseH1004, that thou hast broughtH935 me thus farH1988? 19And this was yet a small thingH6994 in thy sightH5869, O LordH136 GODH3069; but thou hast spokenH1696 also of thy servant’sH5650 houseH1004 for a great while to comeH7350. And is this the mannerH8452 of manH120, O LordH136 GODH3069?5 20And what canH3254 DavidH1732 sayH1696 moreH3254 to thee? for thou, LordH136 GODH3069, knowestH3045 thy servantH5650. 21For thy word’sH1697 sake, and according to thy own heartH3820, hast thou doneH6213 all these great thingsH1420, to make thy servantH5650 knowH3045 them . 22Therefore thou art greatH1431, O LORDH3068 GodH430: for there is none like thee, neither is there any GodH430 besidesH2108 thee, according to all that we have heardH8085 with our earsH241. 23And what oneH259 nationH1471 in the earthH776 is like thy peopleH5971, even like IsraelH3478, whom GodH430 wentH1980 to redeemH6299 for a peopleH5971 to himself, and to makeH7760 him a nameH8034, and to doH6213 for you great thingsH1420 and terribleH3372, for thy landH776, beforeH6440 thy peopleH5971, whom thou didst redeemH6299 to thee from EgyptH4714, from the nationsH1471 and their godsH430? 24For thou hast confirmedH3559 to thyself thy peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 to be a peopleH5971 to thee forH5704 everH5769: and thou, LORDH3068, art becomeH1961 their GodH430. 25And now, O LORDH3068 GodH430, the wordH1697 that thou hast spokenH1696 concerning thy servantH5650, and concerning his houseH1004, establishH6965 it forH5704 everH5769, and doH6213 as thou hast saidH1696. 26And let thy nameH8034 be magnifiedH1431 forH5704 everH5769, sayingH559, The LORDH3068 of hostsH6635 is the GodH430 over IsraelH3478: and let the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650 DavidH1732 be establishedH3559 beforeH6440 thee. 27For thou, O LORDH3068 of hostsH6635, GodH430 of IsraelH3478, hast revealedH1540H241 to thy servantH5650, sayingH559, I will buildH1129 thee an houseH1004: therefore hath thy servantH5650 foundH4672 in his heartH3820 to prayH6419 this prayerH8605 to thee.6 28And now, O LordH136 GODH3069, thou art that GodH430, and thy wordsH1697 are trueH571, and thou hast promisedH1696 this goodnessH2896 to thy servantH5650: 29Therefore now let it pleaseH2974 thee to blessH1288 the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650, that it may continue for everH5769 beforeH6440 thee: for thou, O LordH136 GODH3069, hast spokenH1696 it : and with thy blessingH1293 let the houseH1004 of thy servantH5650 be blessedH1288 for everH5769.7
