Context of Psalms 34:8
6This oppressed man cried out and the Lord heard; he saved him from all his troubles. 7The Lord’s angel camps around the Lord’s loyal followers and delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good! How blessed is the onewho takes shelter in him! 9Remain loyal to the Lord, you chosen people of his, for his loyal followers lack nothing! 10Even young lions sometimes lack food and are hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

God has put it in the power of every man to know whether the religion of the Bible be true or false. The promises relative to enjoyments in this life are the grand tests of Divine revelation. These must be fulfilled to all them who with deep repentance and true faith turn unto the…Read the comment
- Barnes’ Notes on the Bible · v. 8O taste and see - This is an address to others, founded on the experience of the psalmist.
