Context of Psalms 90:7
5You sweep mortals away. They are a dream. They sprout again in the morning like cut grass. 6In the morning they blossom and sprout. In the evening they wither and dry up. Indeed, your anger consumes us. Your rage terrifies us. 8You have set our sins in front of you. You have put our secret sins in the light of your presence. 9Indeed, all our days slip away because of your fury. We live out our years like one ⌞long⌟ sigh.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 7We are consumed by thine anger - Death had not entered into the world, if men had not fallen from God. By thy wrath are we troubled - Pain, disease, and sickness are so many proofs of our defection from original rectitude. The anger and wrath of God are moved against all sinners. Even in protracted life we consume away, and only seem to live in order to die. "Our wasting lives grow shorter still, As days and months increase; And every beating pulse we…Read the comment

- Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 7-11Verses 7-11 The afflictions of the saints often come from God's love; but the rebukes of sinners, and of believers for their sins, must be seen coming from the displeasure of God. Our years, when gone, can no more be recalled than the words that we have spoken. Our whole life is toilsome and troublesome; and perhaps, in…Read the comment
